As a service provider, Vision is offering tremendous money-saving potential with laser welding. Instead of replacing expensive injection moulds or machine components when they get damaged, they can be repaired cost-effectively with laser welding.
Vision offers a large spectrum of equipment and techniques: the systems enable a seam width of from 50 μm to 2 mm. Computer supported positioning in association with an automatic wire feeder guarantees a homogenous application of encased areas or on hardened burrs. Welding of large series is also easy thanks to programmable processes: stepper motor controlled axes enable repeat accuracy of better than 0.1 mm for large work pieces. For small work pieces, values of better than 0.01 mm have been attained. Round pieces from 0.1 to 150 mm can be processed effortlessly.

The advantages of laser moulding:
Low thermal pressure
With laser moulding there is only low thermal pressure placed on the work piece being processed. Thanks to local energy input the chances of material deformation are almost completely eliminated. The low thermal pressure is not only the key to distortion-free welding, but also opens the door to new opportunities for design and construction. Welding in close proximity to heatsensitive components or finishes enables new opportunities and an often very easy design with huge potential for saving money. Especially very thin walled components, sheets of metal and pipes can be welded in this way with no distortions and without post-processing.
New combinations
Laser welding is an opportunity to experiment. This is because combinations with other materials are often possible here which are not possible with conventional welding. This is made possible by the additions of special interface additions as well as thermal after-treatment. The material can be hardened afterwards or get its original flexibility back.
Making the inaccessible accessible
Particularly in casings and casing parts, there are often places that are difficult to access. With the help of a number of optics, lasers can process these areas and so, for example, even the smallest to the biggest stainless steel casing can be welded with no distortions and with a perfect EMC finish. As post-processing is not necessary, the additional cost of laser welding becomes comparable to Auftragschweißung: Diagnosewerkzeug / job shop: diagnostic tool using conventional methods.
